KAMAAL WILLIAMS MEAN SUTTN

Kamaal Williams is a Taiwanese/British rapper and jazz enthusiast from Peckham, South London. He hosts a monthly radio show on NTS Radio as Henry Wu, playing a selection of music from his influences and associated acts in the London scene. He's just dropped a lush new track 'Mean Suttn' with the help of LA producer and beat-maker Iman Omari. String bends on electric guitar are looped to create a repeated melody with a sentimental effect, along with a mellow synth pad and a laid-back hip hop beat. Kamaal's vocals are deep and wonderfully South London: "She like a beat that you can leave runnin', she flavour like garlic, ginger and green onion, I miss the days we used to mean something". At just over a minute in length, this song leaves you wanting to hear it all over again. It's emotional song which sees Kamaal reminisce about times gone by. -Ellie Rose-Davies
